Gabriel D’Arcy, Chief Executive
Prior to joining Town of Monaghan Co-op in August 2014 Gabriel D’Arcy had been Managing Director of Bord na Mona since 2008. There he led the transformation of the organisation to deliver its vision, “A New Contract with Nature”. This was a diversification strategy to move Bord na Mona away from dependency on peat operations to embrace Renewable Energy and Resource Recovery in its portfolio.
Prior to this, Gabriel worked for almost 20 years with the Kerry Group and was closely involved in the rapid expansion of Kerry’s Ingredients Division in Europe of which he became Commercial Director. Here he played a key role in the development of a European Food Ingredients Division by implementing pan-European strategies while also ensuring alignment with core Kerry values.
Gabriel began his career in the Irish Defence Forces where he served for 12 years, both at home and abroad. As part of his cadetship at Military College, he completed undergraduate studies at University College Galway graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in 1981. He also holds an MSc from University College Dublin from 1988, and an MBA from Kinston University Business School, 1996.
He is married to Niamh, and has four children.
Nigel Kemps, Deputy Chief Executive
Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in the Northern Ireland dairy industry. After completing his studies at Loughry College, he joined Leckpatrick where he ultimately ended up as Factory Manager of the Rossdowney site and was a key player in the development of a highly successful Irish Cream Liqueur. Following the acquisition of Leckpatrick by Golden Vale, he led a strategic review for the group of liquid milk operations. He subsequently was appointed General Manager of the Lurgan site with responsibility for liquid milk operations throughout Northern Ireland before joining Ballyrashane Co-op in 1997, as Deputy General Manager responsible for farm collection, liquid milk processing, sales and distribution.
Following his appointment as CEO of Ballyrashane in 2010, he initiated a number of major projects and investments aimed at securing the long-term sustainability and growth of the company for the benefit of its shareholders, employees and community. These included the award-winning Anaerobic Digestion Plant and state-of-the-art £8million Butter Facility which allowed the company to enter new global markets. He also oversaw the development of a sizeable milk pool within the local Ballyrashane area providing the company with a direct milk supply.
He is married to Elaine, and has two daughters.
Diarmaid Kilduff – Chief Operating Officer
Diarmaid became COO of LacPatrick in September 2015, having joined the company in June 2015 as Town of Monaghan Co-op’s COO. Prior to that, he held several senior executive positions at Kerry Group and Kerry Foods. He is an accomplished international General Manager with a track record of driving growth and continuous improvement in dynamic and highly competitive markets. He holds a Degree in Chemical Engineering from University College Dublin.
Married to Emer and has 2 daughters.
Michael Collins – Chief Finance Officer
Michael joined LacPatrick in February 2016. He has over 14 years’ senior executive experience, having worked previously as CFO and Deputy CEO of Cityjet, and prior to that he spent four years at international housing development company McInerney Holdings. He has gained extensive experience in strategic planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, and change management. Michael is a fellow member of ACCA and holds an Executive MBA from London Business School. In 2014 he gained an Advanced International Corporate Finance qualification from INSEAD, France. Michael is also a non-Executive Board Member of St. James’s Hospital and an external examiner for the Institute of Technology, Carlow.
Michael is married and has two daughters.
Caroline McQuaid – Human Resources Director
Caroline joined LacPatrick in November 2015. She has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources, having previously worked for 17 years with Kerry Group as HR Operations Director, EMEA Region. She has gained extensive experience in developing HR strategy, organisation design, talent management, building business teams, training and development, cost control and delivering budgets. She really enjoys working with people and teams, challenging tasks and delivering ambitious goals which provide commercial development and business growth. Caroline has a BSc Business Administration degree (Hons) and in 2008 completed a MSc Human Resources Leadership with Sheffield Hallam University.
She is married to Desmond and has 3 children.
Enda Gallen – International Sales Manager
Enda joined LacPatrick in July 2016. He joined the business from the Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship Programme where he spent over a year in Dubai, developing new and existing Irish food business in the Middle East and North African markets. He began his career with the Kerry Group in the Consumer Foods Division, working across the different functions of Sales, Marketing and Category Management. He holds an Honours Degree in Business Management from DIT, and MSc in Marketing Practice and an MSc in International Business both from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School Dublin.
Celine McAnenly – Business Improvement Director
Celine joined LacPatrick in November 2015 as Site Manager Monaghan. She also has responsibility for Group Procurement and Logistics. A finance professional with over 20 years’ experience in construction, food & engineering in a career evenly split between global manufacturers and indigenous companies. She has a track record of driving growth, reducing costs, improving operations and liaising with a worldwide customer base. She spent five years in European Procurement at one of the world’s largest, most progressive engineering firms which is a career highlight, making the transition from Finance to Operations. She carries vast experience from Director positions at Powerscreen and Quinn Manufacturing Group.
Celine is married to Kieran and has 3 children.
Eamonn O’Malley – General Manager Artigarvan
Eamonn joined LacPatrick in August 2016. He has almost 20 years’ experience in Operations and Quality in the food sector. He has held positions in the Meat and Dairy Industry in Quality, Process, Operations, Manufacturing Services, Supply Chain and Projects with Companies such as Hanley’s Meats, Dublin Fine Foods, Glanbia plc and Nutricima Ltd. He gained vast experience in the West African Dairy Industry during his 5 years with Nutricima Ltd based in Nigeria. As Manager of a Whey Protein Isolate Plant, he was heavily involved in several multi-million euro projects. Eamonn has a BSc in Science from the University of Limerick and a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from Cork Institute of Technology.
Michael Lyttle – General Manager Ballyrashane
Michael joined LacPatrick in January 2017. He has over 20 years’ operational management experience across a range of industries, most recently in the food and drinks sector, having worked in senior management roles for Moy Park, O’Kane Poultry and beverage manufacturer, Mulrines. As a result, he has built up extensive experience in Supply Chain Management, Food Safety, Food Processing and Manufacturing, Project Management and Manufacturing Information Systems. Fluent in French, Michael has a degree in European Business Studies from Ulster University, and more recently gained an Advanced Management post graduate qualification from Ashridge Hult International Business School.
He is married to Carolanne and has 3 children.
